How To Get More Teammates And Customers By Screwing Up Your Pitch

Is it possible to screw up everything, say all the wrong things when you pitch your business and still close tons of sales?

Yes, you can do everything wrong and yet still have people reaching out to you wanting to become a customer and teammate since this just what happened to my girlfriend last week, who is a complete newbie in her home business.
Let me explain.
I had what most would call a controversial conversation with one of my friends. You see, when I started my own business years ago, it proved to be quite a drastic shock to most of my friends and family…
…when I told them I was going to be leaving my Air Force job (which I loved and was incredibly good at) and instead of searching for another government job…
I was going to build a business from home and replace my military salary.
I definitely was going against the grain of what was normal and comfortable to most, which I’m sure you’ve probably felt too. I don’t know about you, but I didn’t expect so many conversations with my friends that started with…
“So what’s that thing you’re doing? Honestly, I just don’t get it.”
“Making any money yet with that side project you’re doing?”
“So when are you going to start looking for a job again?”
“Do you really think what you’re doing can actually be a sustainable income forever?”
If you’re getting these questions right now, keep moving forward with what you believe in because…
A funny thing happens once you keep your head down, focus on your goals, take consistent focused action on your business and then start to see success.
Especially after I not only replaced my military salary… but tripled it in under 12 months…
Oddly enough, I started to have more of my friends reach out to me asking for advice because they were now starting up their own businesses from home.
Some were even the naysayers way back when.
Wouldn’t it be fun, once you start seeing more success in your business to have family members and friends reaching out to you for business advice when you no longer need them as customers or teammates?
For me, that’s when I felt like I could be the biggest impact. I’d already screwed up so many sales pitches, done so many things wrong and so many things right…
That I could save my friends oodles of time messing up like I did, which is pretty cool. :)

So back to sales pitches, closing sales and how you can screw everything up and still make a profit…

My friend reached out to me last week and asked if I’d hop on the phone with her so she could run through her “phone pitch” of her business for the list she made of family members and friends who could be potential teammates and customers.
Now even though I’ve chosen a different strategy to build my business completely online, I said yes.
We hopped on the phone, I listened, smiled with a strange feeling of deja vu (I’ll explain in the video below) and was in shock with what she shared at the end of the conversation…
On what she did to close sales in her first weeks of being in business.
I break down the 5 tweaks I gave her to close more sales from her pitch here:

How Your Business Benefits From This Controversial Coaching Call

As a person who’s primarily built my business online, a lot of this conversation I had with my friend was controversial for me. You see, I typically give advice to business owners who have already burnt through their warm market list and are looking for another way to keep their business afloat and leverage their time.
Like I said in the video, I commend her for taking action to reach out to her family members and friends to close those initial sales. However, at some point I know from experience, in order to keep your business profitable…
You need to have another plan of action, which I’ll explain more later on in this post…
And oddly enough…
She was already effectively making money from this formula I’ll explain later without even realizing it. But let’s cover the tweaks I shared with her so you can close more sales in case you’re running into the same issues she was.

Tweak #1: Set expectations for your time together

This initial call to share your business should only be a 5 minute conversation. This is not the call to get all caught up on each other’s life changes.
A great way to set expectations for the call is to be up front about the amount of time that you have to talk. This let’s them know that the conversation is going to be short and sweet and by setting the expectations up front for the call, you’ll also avoid the dreadful “Oh shoot, what they trying to sell me?” thoughts that run through their mind.

Tweak #2: Revolve Your Story Around Them

Storytelling is one of the most powerful skill sets you can develop for marketing your business, however, too often once you start telling your story it becomes all about you. For this initial call, the best way to utilize your story is through this format:
  • Here’s what I’ve been up to (keep your story brief here)
  • Here’s what I was introduced to so I can (in my friend’s case, stay home with her kids)
  • Here’s what it’s doing for me and others
  • I thought of you
  • Are you be open to hearing more about what I’m doing to make some extra money from home and how I’m ________ (speak of a benefit you’re getting from your product)?

Tweak #3: Sell More Stuff By Doing Less Work

In my friends initial pitch, she told me everything possible about her company. Instead of feeling like you have to be the expert in your company’s products, compensation plans, monthly memberships and everything under the sun…
Instead utilize tools anytime you can. This allows you to use tools that are already created to do the selling for you like:
  • Sales pages
  • Free giveaways
  • Opportunity videos
  • Team webinar trainings
Remember, if you’re looking to bring in teammates, they have to believe they can build the business too.  If they feel like they have to have a PhD in skin care products before they can be profitable… they’ll avoid the opportunity to join you.  Keep it simple.

Tweak #4: Your First Call Shouldn’t Make You Money

Sounds crazy right? But if you take out this expectation, you’ll actually profit more in the long run.  For every call you make whether it’s to your family members, friends or leads you get online, your initial call is to qualify them to see if they’d like to know more, point them a tool to educate them and schedule your next call.
On average it takes 5-7 exposures of a product or service before someone makes a buying decision, so the more follow up connections you make with that prospect…. The better.
The faster you can take out the expectation of closing sales immediately on your initial calls, will help you out in the long run.

Tweak #5: Be Prepared

No matter who you’re speaking with (especially if it’s family members and friend initially), be prepared that you’re going to get way more “No’s” and “are you sure you really want to build a business like this?” responses.
Believe it or not, not everyone is your ideal customer or teammate. Start focusing on taking consistent effective action without getting addicted to the outcome.  Which brings me too…

How To Get More Teammates And Customers By Screwing Up Your Pitch

So yes, my friends initial sales pitch wasn’t great, in fact, it sounded exactly like mine when I first started out. However, she still made more autopilot sales, brought in more customers and had people reaching out to her to build the business with her.

How did this happen?
It was from one simple post on social media. She actually attracted people she hadn’t even spoken to about her business yet reach out to her, buy her products and join her team because…
They already knew, liked and trusted her.
In fact, they had already been pitched the same business opportunity and products by other people in the past, but from this one social media post…
She closed those sales effortlessly without the perfect pitch, without being pushy or without any high pressure sales tactics.
They asked… she offered out valuable information… they signed up.
What’s cool is…
This is how I’ve learned to build my whole business with having perfect strangers reach out to me, raise their hands and ask me how they could get what I was selling and you can do the same…

Before you go…

Easy 1 Up - Here's the Best Home Based Business for Baby Boomers!

http://www.jenkinsmarketinggroup.com/ - In this video I will explain why Easy 1 Up  is the best home based business for baby boomers.

The month of July is turning out to be awesome for my Easy 1 Up business. Not only have I earned money in just 15 days, I’ve also realized that Baby Boomers (people who were born 1946 – 1964) are joining my business more than ever.

These “Baby Boomers” see the simplicity of Easy 1 Up, and the “done for you” “behind the scenes” marketing is perfect for their lack of online marketing experience.

So, it's in my old 54 year old's opinion, Easy 1 Up is the best online business for baby boomers.

HOW TO MAKE MORE MONEY WITHOUT CHASING IT

A man, who we’ll call John, was sitting on his couch browsing Forbes magazine and came across an article about another man, who we will call David.  The article featured a large image of David wearing a classic, tailored suit and a headline that read, “The Man With The Golden Touch.” The article stated that in addition to completing his third successful multi-million dollar development deal, David was now creating a foundation in his old neighborhood to teach kids about real estate.

15 years after graduating from high school, John lived in a one bedroom apartment with his wife and three kids.  After being laid off from his job, John strived to find a way to make some quick money.  John was greatly impacted by the Forbes article not only because he was inspired by David’s story, but because he actually grew up with David and knew him quite well.

David and John went to the same elementary, junior high, and high school.  They rode the same school bus and lived in the same neighborhood.  During their first year of college, John decided to drop out and play professional poker while David continued to struggle through college.  A few years later, John, in addition to playing poker, started purchasing lottery tickets while David managed to land his first real estate development job.

Eventually, John started losing both all of his own money and the money that was loaned to him.  John relied solely on “get rich quick” schemes and continued to spend money on lottery tickets.  David, on the other hand, continued to work his development job and invested in real estate on the side.  The work and spending habits of both parties continued over a few more years resulting in outcomes that reflected their actions. For example, John became extremely financially burdened and ran out of “get rich quick” schemes which led him to finally seek a job while David began developing million dollar properties.

The last time John saw David, John asked him how he was able to afford those multi-million dollar projects to which David responded by saying most of the time, people come to him to invest in his projects and because of this, he doesn’t have to use much of his money at all.  Finally, John realized that he spent the last 15 years chasing money whereas David spent the last 15 years attracting money.   David, unlike John who became broke because of his love for money, understood the scripture in the Bible that says, “Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for God has said, I will never leave you nor forsake.”

ARE YOU CHASING SUCCESS OR RUNNING FROM WHAT YOU LOVE?

ARE YOU CHASING SUCCESS OR RUNNING FROM WHAT YOU LOVE?

We’re  taught from an early age, if you want to get good grades you must spend time studying.

Then we get older and we’re taught if you want to make more money you have to put in the extra hours.

Then after devoting a combined 65 years of our lives to school and work we finally get a chance to spend time with those we love doing the things we love to do -- IF we put away enough money.

Well, I didn’t want to wait until I was 65 to take trips with my wife or spend time with my friends, so I created other automated streams of income.  Because it's all automated I have more free time to actually enjoy the extra income.

It may take some time to get your mind around earning money without giving up your time, but it’s the way to go.  Timothy Ferris writes about this in his book Four Hour Work Week.  Scott Fox writes about this in his book Click Millionaires.

Here is the tip -- think about your career. Has each promotion come with more responsibilities?  Have these responsibilities caused you to spend less and less time with your family and friends?  If so, decide today that you are going to make a change.Because instead of chasing success you could really be running further and further from the things you love.

If you would like to start making additional income on the side.  Click HERE for my free video on how to make extra money without impacting your 9-to-5.

Easy1Up Review PROOF12Sep

Easy 1 Up Review- How I Made 100 dollars in 1 hour with the Easy 1 Up System

So for the last couple weeks, I have really enjoyed this new program called easy 1 up.  And here’s the reason why… Not only have I been able to make 100 in less than 1 hour  with this program, but I have helped countless people get paid so far in these past 2 weeks.
However, I wanted to do a special video to show you proof that I really did make $100.00. We have a young lady who has come into the industry against all the odds and has become a master marketer in just a 2 month period.  Not only that, but she has joined forces with me in the easy 1 up program and in just her first 2 weeks, she was able to bring in over $3,000 in profits.
This business has been a huge blessing to so many people so far because of it’s business model, structure, and price points. What I have found so far in my online business career is most people are looking to become financially free, but most are not willing to invest in themselves to take it to that level.

On the other hand, those who do have the money to invest in themselves are the same ones who will eventually become masters of the craft.  And honestly, I don’t like it when people say that they don’t have the money to start a home based business.  Instead, I like folk who say.. “I don’t have it, but I’m willing to go out and get it.”
The easy 1 up business opportunity is a perfect fit for people of all income backgrounds. The compensation plan for easy 1 up is able to serve people from all over the world. You can come in at a one time price of $25, $100, $250, and $500 plus a small admin fee.
This was the blessing I was looking for.. for a long time. Now there is not excuse for anyone who has a desire to start a business online to look no further. Easy 1 up has paved the way for the average person to come in and start an affordable opportunity and win with it. 7 Ways to Save Money in Your Home Based Business

1. Pool your purchasing power. Find other small-business owners--not necessarily home based--and team up to buy supplies in bulk. You'll save money on the cost of the materials, as well as the shipping. "I get together with an accountant friend and a computer specialist, and we order basic items like paper in large quantities, usually five or more cases at a time," says Lyn Richards, owner of Dog Logic , a resource center for large- and giant-breed dog owners and breeders in Manchester, New Hampshire. "We get a lower price per ream, and the shipping ends up being free because we buy so much."

Don't limit group-buying partners to noncompeting companies: "Coopetition" (cooperation among competitors) is one of the hot trends in business today. Consider group purchasing with businesses that offer the same or similar services as you but that perhaps target a slightly different market or geographic area. Be sure all agreements are clearly spelled out in writing. Clarify upfront who will actually make the purchase, how the goods will be delivered, when the others will reimburse the purchaser, and how any problems with quality or service are to be handled.

2. Request an energy audit and off-peak usage discount from your utility company. The energy audit is free, and they'll give you plenty of tips to conserve energy and reduce your power bill. For the discount, get a printout of your energy consumption. "Ask for a discount when your peak usage coincides with their low-point usage," Lyn Richards says. "Many power companies will give a 25-cent-per-kilowatt-hour discount when you do this."

3. Promote yourself. Use sound public relations and promotion techniques to gain exposure in your community and in the media that target your prospective customers. This approach is generally more effective and much less expensive than advertising. And always capitalize on one of the cheapest and most effective marketing methods of all: word-of-mouth.

4. Form marketing alliances. Get together with other small businesses that target the same market, and combine your marketing efforts. For example, Steinman's been invited to team with a natural body-care company to exhibit at a large national trade show this fall. "Instead of spending $2,500 for a booth showing just their line, they've selected a few complementary companies to share the booth," she says. "For $400, I'll get exposure in a show I [couldn't otherwise] afford, and they'll offset their costs." You can also team up with other small businesses on advertising and promotional efforts; all it takes is a little creativity and cooperation. As with buying groups, however, make sure you put everything in writing..

5. Operate your vehicle efficiently. Combine trips and avoid unnecessary travel. Maintain your vehicle for maximum gas mileage, which means doing things like keeping tires properly inflated, removing unnecessary weight, keeping filters clean, and getting periodic engine tune-ups.

6. Ask for a better price. When you're shopping for any type of goods or services, always ask for a better price. The worst that can happen is the supplier will say no--but they might say yes.

7. Promote yourself. Use sound public relations and promotion techniques to gain exposure in your community and in the media that target your prospective customers. This approach is generally more effective and much less expensive than advertising. And always capitalize on one of the cheapest and most effective marketing methods of all: word-of-mouth.
